6/23/2025
In alignment with the strategic directives of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the dedicated efforts of the Egyptian Petrochemical Holding Company (ECHEM) to advance sustainability and environmental accountability within the petroleum sector, Sidi Kerir Petrochemical Company (SIDPEC) has taken a significant step demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability and transparency.
Sidi Kerir Petrochemical Company (SIDPEC) announced that it has received international accreditation and published the Environmental Product Declaration report (EPD) for its High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) product, reinforcing its position as a role model for sustainable industrial practices.
The EPD report is an internationally accredited document that provides comprehensive data on a product's environmental impact over its entire life cycle, from raw material extraction to the manufacture, use and final disposal of the product. The report includes accurate details on energy and water consumption, carbon emissions, and chemicals use, providing complete data on the carbon footprint and environmental impact of the product.
SIDPEC international accreditation and publication of the Environmental Product Declaration Report for its HDPE product is fully aligned with the company's strategic objectives and its Decarbonization Strategy.
"This represents a crucial stride in enhancing our competitiveness within global markets, which are increasingly prioritizing sustainability," stated a company representative. "Furthermore, it reaffirms our focus on the environmental impact of our products and our unwavering dedication to actively contributing to the sustainable development goals outlined in Egypt's Vision 2030, while simultaneously strengthening our relationships with international clients".
This accomplishment highlights SIDPEC's ongoing efforts to integrate best environmental practices into its operational processes and product development, thereby supporting the broader transition towards a green economy and clean industrial practices. This accreditation is anticipated to create new opportunities for SIDPEC in global markets and bolster marketing endeavors, particularly given the escalating demand for products with reduced environmental footprints.
