Under the Slogan “Your Safety Matters to Us” – SIDPEC Recognizes Outstanding Achievements in Safety

as part of its ongoing commitment to the highest standards of occupational health, safety, and environmental stewardship—and in alignment with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategic priorities for fostering a safe working environment—Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (SIDPEC) held a Labor Day celebration on Monday, 12 May 2025, under the theme “Your Safety Matters to Us.” The event featured an educational seminar focused on key safety topics, including unsafe conditions and behaviors, hidden hazards, and safe driving practices. It also presented outcomes from the company’s implementation of the STOP safety management system, reflecting efforts by the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Department to further embed a culture of safety throughout the organization. The celebration was held under the patronage and in the presence of Eng. Mohamed Ibrahim, Chairman and Managing Director, alongside several company leaders and employees. In his address, Eng. Ibrahim extended his congratulations on the occasion of Labor Day and expressed his appreciation for the workforce’s continued dedication to improving operational efficiency and increasing productivity—efforts that directly support the national economy. He reaffirmed that employee safety remains a top priority at SIDPEC, underscoring the importance of full compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure a workplace free from incidents and injuries. At the conclusion of the event, Eng. Ibrahim, joined by Dr. Mohamed El-Masry, Assistant Chairman for HSE, honored a select group of employees for their exemplary contributions to workplace safety. Recipients of the “Safety Man” award included: • Chemist/ Mohamed El-Helougy – Manager, Gas Compressor Department, Ethylene Operations • Eng. Ahmed Gamil – Manager, Desalination Department, Utilities Operations • Chemist /Mahmoud El-Khatib – Manager, Ziegler Reactor Department, Polyethylene Operations • Eng.Mohamed El-Garf – Senior Maintenance Engineer, Ethylene Unit • Mr. Mahmoud El-Zoqom – Safety Officer, KORRA Company (CHP project contractor) This recognition reflects SIDPEC’s continued efforts to celebrate safety excellence and encourage strict adherence to safety protocols—reinforcing its vision of a safe, responsible, and high-performing work environment.
