The event was held from 16 to 19 January 2025 at the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Nasr City, under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, and the Chemical and Fertiliser Export Council, with support from the Chemical Industries Chamber of the Egyptian Federation of Industries. The exhibition was attended by Eng. Mohamed Ibrahim, Chairman and Managing Director of SIDPEC, along with company executives, specialists, and stakeholders. More than 300 exhibitors from 15 Arab and foreign countries participated in the event, reflecting significant diversity in offerings, including raw materials, intermediate goods, finished products, machinery, technologies, and solutions for various plastic, rubber, and polymer industries. This year's Afroplast aims to increase export deals by 100% compared to the previous edition, aligning with the national plan to achieve $100 billion in exports by 2030. Eng. Mohamed Ibrahim, Chairman of SIDPEC, highlighted the importance of this event, expressing his satisfaction with the company’s participation, alongside the presence of Eng. Khaled Aboul Makarem, Chairman of the Chemical and Fertiliser Export Council, and Major General Essam Al-Naggar, Head of the General Organisation for Export and Import Control. He noted that Afroplast serves as an effective platform for showcasing investments, exploring new markets in the Middle East and Africa, boosting sales, maximising returns, attracting further investments, and enabling immediate contractual decisions. Additionally, the event featured multiple sessions on the sidelines aimed at addressing challenges faced by the sector. It is worth noting that since its inception, SIDPEC has been dedicated to meeting the needs of a wide customer base in the plastics industry both within Egypt and abroad. As a pioneer in polyethylene manufacturing, the company has had a significantly positive impact on the national economy.
