Efficiency: A Journey of Success", as part of the ministry’s strategy
to enhance the economic efficiency of energy use in the petroleum sector, while
aligning with the sustainable development goals outlined in Egypt's Vision
2030. The workshop, coordinated and supported by the Egyptian General Petroleum

organized by Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (Sidpec). It was attended by
senior officials from EGPC, ECHEM, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company
(EGAS), the South Valley Egyptian Petroleum Holding Company (GANOPE), as well
as company executives from the petroleum sector, members of the Ministry's
Energy Efficiency and Climate Department, and representatives from the United
Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), alongside local, regional,
and international institutions and specialists in energy efficiency.
The workshop
commenced with an opening speech from Eng. Mohamed Ibrahim, Chairman of Sidpec,
followed by remarks from Eng. Mohamed Abdel Moneim, General Manager of Energy
Efficiency and Climate at the Ministry of Petroleum, and concluded with a
closing address by Eng. Ibrahim Meki, Chairman of ECHEM. The event featured
four successful panel discussions, starting with a strategic session titled "Strategic

energy efficiency, delivered by Dr Mohamed Salah El-Din Ahmed, General Manager
of Quality, Energy, and Business Excellence. Sidpec firmly believes that
sustainable energy is a fundamental requirement for development, necessitating
a new model that balances economic growth with sustainability for future
generations. A case study of SIDPEC’s energy efficiency success, conducted in
partnership with one of the world's leading consulting firms, KBC (YOKOGAWA),
was also presented.
The objective
of the workshop was to showcase the successes and achievements of companies
within the petroleum sector, while fostering the exchange of expertise and
perspectives to develop joint projects and shared goals that enhance energy
